Its just about fire. Fire that Allah swt has dipped into the sea 70 times. Try burning your finger. Or just placing your hand above the fire, without touching the flames. Hot isn't it? Imagine something 70 times hotter than that. I don't know if any of you is finding it hard imagining that. But I do have a hard time. I read somewhere that someone kept a lighter in his pocket, Just to remind him how hot hell is. Everytime he tries to do something bad... Or just thinks about something bad, he'd flick his lighter.. Then poof, the desire is absolutely gone. Cool huh? I'm too chicken to do that. Huargh. Yeeks. A few days before, my mom related a story that Ustaz Hasbi told during one of his classes. Its about this guy. Pious like what. His tongue never stopped from saying the zikr since he was 7 years old. Imagine that. Amazing right? Since he is pious, some people 'follow' him. Like he has 'sessions' where people seat and zikr wih him. Sommmeeething like that. One day, when he was having one of those 'sessions', There was a guy who came to that 'session', smelling very bad. The pious person ignored the guy. He just commented about how bad he smelt to himself. Like: "What a smell." Something like that. He thought it to himself then walked away. One day, this pious man died. He was judged by Allah. Allah asked the malaikat where the man's place was; Naar(Hell) or Jannah(Heaven). They answered: Hell Of course the man was surprised. He started to protest. "I've never stopped saying your name since I was seven until the very last day of my life, and I'm being put in Hell?" So Allah swt asked the malaikat to weigh the man's good deeds and bad deeds. His good deeds: All the zikr he has done. Which is quite a lot, don't you agree? His bad deeds: The one time he said something to himself about the man who smelt. Which, to us, is so little. He just said it in his heart. Seems like its no biggie, right? So they weighed them both on the Mizan(Balance). The pan with the bad deeds was heavier than his good deeds. Heavier. Like what right. So he got dragged into hell. So imagine. He talked bad about a person. Just in his heart. And it weighed more than his good deeds of almost a lifetime of zikr. Now mirror ourselves. We barely say Allah's name outside solat. AND we talk bad about people. How will our measure be? Heavier on the good deeds or on the bad deeds? Sure, every ummah of Rasulullah SAW is going to enter Jannah AFTERbeing punished for all his bad deeds in Hell. BUT. If one day in hell is like 7000 years. How long would it take if you were sentenced to, say, 10 years in hell. 7000 x 365 x 10 years? We dont even live that long. Na'uzubillahminzalik. Astaghfirullah. Indeed, we don't deserve Paradise, Ya Allah. But we can't bear to face Hell, Ya Allah.. Labels: http://pelitahidupnurul.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html |
